The Puma Cougar collector knife, is probably one of the most elegant hunting knives ever. The "Cougar wood" knife is a real designer piece that cuts just as fine a figure in use as it does in the collector's showcase - from PUMA Solingen.
The "cougar" model was designed by Richard Hehn, one of Germany's most renowned knifemakers. For decades in the PUMA program, it has not lost its myth to this day.
The blade is made of the stainless steel DIN 1.4112 and hardened up to 57 HRC.
The construction of the knife is also a special feature: The blade and the one-piece handle manufactured in the steel investment casting process are separate elements that are joined together in a special process. The Puma"Dagga" is a heavy, robust and yet shapely hunting knife that is not too bad for any task - from PUMA Solingen.
Knives used for hunting should have good stability. This insight was consistently implemented in our PUMA "dagga". The result is a heavy hunting all-rounder with a strong flat-ground blade whose full tang is fitted with voluminous buffalo horn scales. A guard made of solid nickel silver serves as hand protection. These features make the "dagga" model suitable for heavier cutting tasks and will not let its owner down in any situation.
A brief explanation of the name of the knife: “Dagga Boy” is a term used mainly in the context of safaris in Africa to describe an old, solitary male buffalo. The word “dagga” comes from Zulu and means mud, referring to the preference of these buffalo to spend time in muddy waters to protect themselves from insects, among other things. Dagga Boys are known for their unpredictability and can be quite dangerous. Such a strong name for a powerful hunting knife!

German PUMA Extension Stag Folding Knife
- Made in Solingen / Germany -
Introduction:
The original PUMA "extension knife" has been one of the most wanted rarities for decades and is now available again.
With a lot of passion and dedication, we have been manufacturing hunting knives of the highest quality for over two and a half centuries. Many PUMA knives have meanwhile become true classics and are among the rarities that are not only sought after by users but especially by collectors. One of these special models is our "extension knife" which we produced in the 1930s to 1950s. Now we have decided to re-launch this model, also known as the "Saustecher" because of its original purpose. The new PUMA extension knife has a fold-out, 19 cm long blade made of stainless 440C steel (57-58 HRC). When folded, the blade extends well beyond the end of the handle and can therefore also be used for finer work. The movable parrying element ("Swing Guard") lies flat against the handle and swings vertically in front of the handle when the blade is folded out to reliably protect the knife-wielding hand - e.g. when catching game. In addition, the "extension knife" has a foldable lever that serves to secure and unlock the blade with retro lettering. Selected deer horn shells and a perfectly fitting leather belt sheath round off this shapely and high-quality handcrafted Solingen product.
Blade length: 7.480" inch / approx. 190 mm Blade thickness: 4,5 mm Steel / hardness: 440C / 57-60 HRC Length open: 12.204" inch / approx. 310 mm Length closed: 8.503" inch / approx. 216 mm Knife weight: 276 g Sheath: brown leather sheath

This is a very fine knife for Falconers. The fixed blade falconry knife from PUMA can be used for all work during the hunt. It is extremely handy, the black micarta handle scales are attached with brass rivets. The front and top jaws are also made of brass. We deliver the falknersheil II including a high quality leather sheath.
The falknersheil was developed with the help of several experienced falconers and especially by Horst Niesters in the early 1970s. The blade is designed to chop up food for the birds and to bag the game catched by the falcon. There is a small "blunt" notch in the middle of the cutting edge. It should signal to the falconer that the cutting edge is sharpened from the tip of the blade to this notch. The rest of the blade is blunt to protect the birds of prey.
"With this knife, the PUMA-Werk has developed a falconer's knife from practical experience for practical use. As a professional falconer, I tried it out on the hunt for a wide variety of game species and during daily work in the bird of prey station. With precise requirements and appropriate suggestions for changes I contribute significantly to the design. The PUMA-FALKNERSHEIL meets all requirements of the practical hunt and falconry business. I wish all falconers joy and good health while running the PUMA FALKNERSHEIL. " In memory of: Horst Niesters / head of the bird of prey station in the Hellenthal game reserve
