German PUMA White Hunter "Lion" Hunting Knife

Introduction:

The "White Hunter" is an ultimate classic hunting knife with decades of proven universal blade for the strongest demands - Handmade in Solingen.

Developed in 1956 for the East African hunting organization Eapha, the Puma "White Hunter" quickly became known as the ultimate outdoor knife worldwide and is now considered an extremely popular classic. His blade shape is well thought out and effortlessly meets all conceivable requirements. The stable tip is robust enough to open cans or pry over crown corks. In the middle of the back of the blade is a cap cut, which is used for rough work, such as firewood columns or chopping bones. In addition, the blade has a practical saw toothing in the rear area of the cutting edge to cut green branches, fish skin, or similar material with a solid surface. 

This classic model features high-quality Plum and Olive wood with brass inlay in handle that are securely attached to the knife's tang. The knife is made from a single piece of steel, which runs continuously from the tip of the blade through the whole handle. With these outstanding qualities, the original "White Hunter" remains an innovative knife that is still unparalleled today.

Another highlight of the white hunter LION version is the beautiful laser engraving on the blade. The knives are numbered in advance. The numbers are assigned after the order is received. It is therefore not possible to select a number.

To mark the 70th anniversary of the legendary PUMA White Hunter, we present an edition that combines tradition, Solingen craftsmanship, and the unique allure of a rare natural material: the PUMA White Hunter Mammoth Edition.

The White Hunter was originally developed in 1956 for the East African Professional Hunters' Association (EAPHA). From the outset, it was designed as a reliable, all-purpose knife for demanding hunting and outdoor applications. Its distinctive blade shape combines a robust tip, a versatile cutting edge, and a serrated section. This combination made the White Hunter one of the most famous hunting knives of its time—and a classic that has lost none of its appeal to this day.

The Mammoth Edition continues this legacy in a particularly exclusive form. Each of the just 70 numbered units features handle scales made from selected mammoth tooth. The unique structure and coloration make every knife a distinctive, one-of-a-kind piece. A stylized laser-engraved mammoth on the blade underscores the character of this extraordinary anniversary edition.

Sophisticated Handle Construction:

Beneath the mammoth tooth handle scales lies an elegant black vulcanized fiber inlay. This creates a clear visual contrast and ensures a high-quality, harmonious transition between the materials.

The mammoth tooth handle scales are permanently bonded using a high-performance two-component adhesive. Additionally, the handle is mechanically secured with concealed rivets. This creates a strong, durable connection while allowing the exterior of the handle to retain its clean, uninterrupted aesthetic.

The knife is manufactured in Solingen. The Puma Wildtöter knife is an old classic, which was already designed half a century ago for hunting tracking and still belongs to the necessary equipment of the hunter - from PUMA Solingen.

 The PUMA "wildtöter" is characterized by its long, narrow and pointed blade, which finds its use when intercepting game. The knife was created in its original form back in 1975 in collaboration with welding dog handler Tassius. In the meantime, we have revised the "wildtöter" according to new ergonomic findings and also made the entire blade more stable. Thus, this high-quality and beautifully designed hunting knife not only meets the requirements of tracking, but also reliably performs many other tasks in the hunting area.
