Muela Viking.M-11B.M Bushcraft Knife
- Handcrafted in Spain by Muela -
Muela offers the Viking as their Scandi grind knife. The traditional Nordic grind goes from full blade width down to zero without any more facets. This creates an extremely sharp and relatively sturdy blade. The grind offers many advantages, especially for bushcraft tasks such as working with dry wood over longer periods. Another advantage is that the Scandi grind is easy to sharpen. The entire blade can simply be placed on a whetstone to sharpen it. The correct angle is maintained automatically. The blades are made from reliable stainless steel 1.4116, which offers a balance of edge retention, easy sharpening and toughness.
The design of the Viking Curly Birch draws much inspiration from traditional Scandinavian knives. The matching handle scales are made from Nordic curly birch, a wood that offers an appealing look and good mechanical properties. The included fire starter - also has a curly birch handle and points to the knife's primary purpose as a bushcraft tool. The fire starter can be carried in a loop on the brown embossed leather sheath.
