German Böker "Siwss Army Dagger"

Introduction:

The Swiss Dagger was a common weapon of the Swiss pikemen in the 15th and 16th century, which often had a middle position between dagger and sword due to its blade length. The dagger, also known as Baselard, was usually not issued as ordinance weapons, but had to be purchased privately by the soldiers and then served as a secondary weapon. Characteristic of the Swiss Dagger is the design of the pommel and the crossguard. The unusual, curved design can be traced back to the early 13th century and can also be found in the authentic design of our hand-made edition. Handpicked local cherry wood is used for the handles of the dagger, which has enjoyed great popularity since ancient times, especially because of its reddish color. The dagger blade, sharpened and pointed on both sides, already had a diamond-shaped cross-section in historical models, because this construction proved to be extremely stable and effective. It is made of the classic Carbon Steel C75 and impresses simply because of its length. The satin-finished blade is marked with the original Boker blade logo from the 1930s. The logo and the individual serial number guarantee the authenticity of the knife and stand for consistently high production quality. With elaborate metal sheath according to the historical models.

German Böker Tiger Damascus Folding Knife

Introduction:

The impressive Boker Tiger- Damascus-adds a very special model to our series of pocket knives steeped in history. The collector's knife with a historical past is a real piece of living history and combines high-quality craftsmanship with authentic materials. Known worldwide as the Tiger, the Panzerkampfwagen VI was used by the Wehrmacht from the late summer of 1942. It is considered one of the most famous tanks in history, despite its modest production number of only 1350 units and the resulting low strategic importance. The development of the heavy tank can be traced back to 1937, and series production began in August 1942. Today, there are only seven preserved units, which are exhibited all over the world. Due to the low availability, the so-called Frankentiger was even assembled for this purpose from wreckage parts of different production years.

The tank parts we use come from a Tiger I of the Schwere Panzerabteilung 502, which was destroyed in combat in Latvia in the summer of 1944 in a heavily wooded area near the town of Bauska. Based on the wreckage found at the original excavation site, it was determined that this Tiger was an early to mid-production model. Examination of battle damage to the remains, military records and local historical accounts revealed that this Tiger tank collided with both a Russian T-34 medium tank and an SU-76 anti-tank gun, and was also damaged by a stationary 45-mm anti-tank gun. It is still unclear which of the impacts caused the most damage and sealed the fate of the Tiger. However, as several 76-mm fragments were lodged in the heavy armour, it is assumed that a nearby T-34 landed the decisive hits before it was destroyed 300 metres away, too.

Otto Carius and Albert Kerscher, two of the most successful tank commanders of the Second World War, were attempting to stop the advance of Soviet forces on Riga at the time, with the Schwere Panzerabteilung 502. The division was able to so devastatingly defeat the enemy blockade forces near Tukums that it was able to retreat to the Latvian Courland together with more than 500,000 other soldiers of the Heeresgruppe Nord. There the forces were encircled in the further course of the Soviet advance. The Kurland Cauldron served as a bridgehead and could be supplied by the Kriegsmarine via sea. It withstood six major attacks by Soviet forces until the unconditional surrender on 8 May, 1945.

The straight-edged Boker Tiger-Damascus is equipped with a unique Damascus blade made from the steelof the battle tank destroyed at Bauska. The non-stainless mosaic Damascus is forged for us by hand by Chad Nichols in the Intrepid pattern and is reminiscent of the tank tracks left in the ground by the Tiger's heavy tracks. Unlike conventional Damascus, the production of mosaic Damascus does not create layers, but complex Damascus bars are forged by hand into a mosaic in an elaborate and very complicated process. The ball-bearing blade is opened by a thumb stud and locked by a sturdy steel framelock with a stonewash finish, while a Hinderer lock-stop acts as an over-extension protection for the lock. The overall shape of the knife pays homage to the famous lines of the tank, while the decorative pivot screw is modelled on the main drive sprocket. The slightly contoured handle scales made of burlap Micarta are provided with precisely milled grooves, which are reminiscent of the characteristic surface structure of the Zimmerit coating of German armoured vehicles. German Böker "Trench" Knife Grabendolch

Introduction:

During the positional war during the First World War and the resulting trench warfare, many of the insufficiently equipped soldiers developed auxiliary weapons, which were manufactured in field forges and workshops on and behind the front. In the course of the battles, however, it became clear that the soldiers' equipment and armament did not meet the requirements of this particular fighting style. In 1915 Boker was therefore commissioned by the Ministry of War to develop a compact combat knife that was ideally suited for precisely this purpose.
The true-to-the-original Boker Trench Knive also has a stainless steel blade made of C75. This carbon steel with an enormous edge retention requires appropriate care today as it did then. The massive stainless steel crossguard, the old official tang stamp on the blade, the local ribbed wood handle and the authentic sheath made of high-quality leather are also part of the original equipment. The knives are marked with a serial number.

The Boker Vollintegral XL is the big brother of the Boker Vollintegral, which has been tried and tested for many years, and meets the wish often expressed to us for a larger version. The impressive blade of satin- finnished 440C with a flat grind further maximises the stability of the blade. The steel is ice hardened to 58 to 59 HRC, making it suitable for stronger game, whether in northern Europe or overseas. The knife, drop-forged from one piece of steel, with intricately contoured handle scales is made of certified imported rosewood that always lies securely in the hand. The hand guard and knob are rounded to optimise the look and feel in the hand. Supplied with a high-quality brown leather sheath. Handmade in the Boker Knife Manufactory in Solingen.

Introduction:

The big brother of the ageless trusty Full-Tang addresses the frequently expressed desire for a larger version. With a blade length of approx. 14.7 cm, the Full-Tang is also appropriate for bigger game, from Northern Europe to overseas. The Full-Tang XL gets the same model maintenance features as the smaller Full-Tang. The handle was given a more crowned shape, while the parrying element and pommel are rounded to optimize visual appeal and handling. Moreover, the Full-Tang XL now also has the finger grooves of the more compact model to achieve the best possible ergonomics. The blade on the XL was also converted to a flat grind to maximize blade strength. Die-forged from a single 440C blank. Shipped with leather sheath. With scales made from premium stag horn.
